Online audio mastering, in short
Midnight Studio masters a song online in seconds: your mix is analysed, run through corrective EQ, glue compression, saturation and a true-peak limiter, and delivered as a 48 kHz / 24-bit WAV at roughly −9.5 LUFS with true peaks at −1.0 dBTP — safe for Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube encoding. Pricing is a flat $10 per mastered track, and the full mastering chain is documented stage by stage.
What files can I upload?+
WAV, AIFF and FLAC give the best results because they are lossless. MP3, M4A and OGG are accepted too, but codec artefacts in the source will still be there after mastering. Leave around 3 dB of headroom on your mix bus and do not put a limiter on the master before uploading.
How long does a master take?+
Seconds. The whole chain renders in your browser using offline audio rendering, so there is no upload queue and no waiting for a human engineer. Longer tracks and slower devices take a little more time, but most songs finish in under ten seconds.
What does the mastering chain actually do?+
Your mix is analysed for peak level, approximate loudness, crest factor and stereo correlation. Based on those measurements the chain applies a 28 Hz high-pass, a narrow corrective cut at the worst low-mid buildup, a presence lift at 3.2 kHz, an air shelf at 11.5 kHz, program-dependent glue compression, oversampled analog-modelled saturation, make-up gain and a look-ahead true-peak limiter.
What loudness do you master to?+
Around −9.5 LUFS integrated with true peaks held at −1.0 dBTP. That sits comfortably above streaming normalisation targets while leaving enough true-peak headroom that lossy encoding on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube will not clip.
What format is the download?+
A 48 kHz, 24-bit WAV — the standard distribution deliverable accepted by every major aggregator and streaming platform.
Do I have to pay before I hear the result?+
No. Mastering runs first and you get a loudness-matched A/B preview plus the full engineering log. You only pay when you have already heard what you are buying.
How much does it cost and how do I pay?+
$10 USD (₹840 INR) per mastered track at the launch price. Checkout runs through Razorpay and supports cards, UPI, netbanking and wallets. Every payment is verified server-side by signature before the download unlocks.
Is my music uploaded to a server?+
The audio processing happens locally in your browser. Your mix is decoded and rendered on your own device rather than being sent to a rendering farm, so the file stays with you.
Can I re-master the same track?+
Yes — reload the page and drop the mix in again. Because processing happens before payment, you can compare different mix versions freely and only pay for the master you want to keep.
Is this a replacement for a human mastering engineer?+
For most releases it gets you a competitive, streaming-ready master in seconds. For complex records where a specific artistic direction matters, a human engineer can still make judgement calls that a measurement-driven chain will not.
